Hendersonville, N.C.-based Park Ridge Health is the first hospital in the region to offer the Mazor X Robotic Guidance System for spine surgery.
Here are four things to know:
1. The Mazor X system offers 3D surgical planning, intraoperative guidance and verification for minimally invasive spine procedures.
2. Stephen David, MD, the medical director of Park Ridge Health's orthopedic program and Total Spine Center, was the first surgeon to perform robot-assisted spine surgery in the region.
3. In 2017, Park Ridge Health became the first health system in western North Carolina to earn The Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval for the Spine Center of Excellence Certification.
4. Park Ridge Health employs 223 physicians.
