Neurosurgeons at Pittsburgh-based Allegheny General Hospital will be the first in the state to use Synaptive Medical’s Modus V surgical system for spine surgery.

1. In conjunction with Synaptive’s BrightMatter Guide system, Modus V provides optics of patient anatomy that allows surgeons to perform minimally invasive procedures with more precision.
2. Synaptive developed the Modus V surgical system using a robotic arm used on the International Space Station. The robotic imaging technology is designed for cranial and complex spine procedures.
3. Synaptive’s BrightMatter technology incorporates surgical planning, navigation and visualization to guide surgeons through neurosurgery.
4. Allegheny General Hospital’s Neuroscience Institute is nationally recognized for treating brain and spine conditions. Neurosurgeons at the hospital specialize in minimally invasive endoscopic and skull-based procedures.
