Imaging

The Multiple Sclerosis Association of America has expanded its MRI Access Fund.

Here are four things to know:

1. The MRI Access Fund assists MS patients who are uninsured or who cannot afford their insurance costs with paying for cranial and cervical spine MRI scans.

2. Qualified MS patients can now receive two MRI scans per MRI Access Fund application, or they can receive reimbursement support for previous MRI scans.

3. There are funding caps on MRI reimbursement amounts. Payments are made directly to the billing facility upon approval.

4. An estimated 2.5 million people worldwide have been diagnosed with MS, symptoms of which can include visual problems, fatigue, difficulty with balance and coordination, depression, cognitive issues and impaired mobility.
