TranS1 releases Capital Bone Graft Harvester — 5 details

MIS

Wilmington, N.C.-based TranS1 announced the launch of the Capital Bone Graft Harvester, a minimally invasive bone-capturing device.

Here are five things to know:

1. The technology harvests autograft material from the iliac crest in a minimally invasive operation.

2. Grafting can be performed in a 1 centimeter tissue access dilator thanks to the device.

3. Graft dowel is also extracted with the device without harming surrounding tissue.

4. A true anterior posterior fluoroscopic image is issued to target the iliac crest, which can be accessed by either a lateral or prone patient position.

5. The device extracts a sample of a patient's natural bone which contains osteoinductive, osteoconductive and osteogenic properties and can be used in a fusion surgery.
