To enhance neurosurgical and cardiovascular surgery capabilities, Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Camden, N.J., opened a new post anesthetic care unit and hybrid operating suite.
Here are five insights:
1. The new facility provides patients minimally invasive neurosurgical procedures to treat strokes, brain aneurysms and other brain and spinal conditions.
2. The care unit comes equipped with a biplane angiography system. Images produced by the biplane aid neurosurgeons in performing endovascular procedures, such as clot removal, aneurysm repair and treatment of arteriovenous malformations.
3. Advanced diagnostics and interventional cardiac procedures will be performed in the new facility.
4. The hybrid lab can be transformed for conventional surgery if the need arises without transporting patients to a second operating room or different team of specialists.
5. Recently, Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center expanded its partnership with the Global Neurosciences Institute to create a comprehensive hub for neurosurgery.
