Captiva Spine receives FDA clearance for extended tab pedicle screws – 3 things to know

MIS

Captiva Spine received FDA 510(k) clearance for its TowerLOX-EXT Extended Tab Pedicle Screws for minimally invasive surgery.

Here are three things to know:

1. TowerLOX-EXT MIS Extended Tab Pedicle Screws are designed to allow percutaneous tower attachment after the extended tabs have been removed.

2. TowerLOX-EXT's narrow insertion path is designed to complement the TowerLOX MIS Pedicle Screw System's patented articulating rod delivery/reduction options and expand the system's capabilities.

3. According to Captiva Spine President Dale Mitchell, the company intended to "reduce insertion pathway, eliminate counter-torque wound expansion and retain the versatility provided by TowerLOX's unique instrumentation for rod delivery, rod reduction and spondylolisthesis reduction."
