From FDA approvals to investments, here are seven updates from spine and orthopedic device companies in the last week:

1. Aurora Spine posted $2.43 million in second quarter revenue. Read more details here.

2. Zimmer Biomet and medical data company Canary Medical received FDA approval to market the tibial extension for Persona IQ, the first smart implant for total knee replacement.

3. Global medical technology company Smith+Nephew's OXINIUM technology has shown strong performance measures in hip and knee arthroplasties.

4. Durham, N.C.-based medtech company Bioventus is investing in minimally invasive technologies by Trice Medical, a company focused on sports medicine and orthopedic surgery devices.

5. Spine device company MiRus received FDA 510(k) clearance for its IO expandable lumbar interbody.

6. DJO introduced the Empowr dual mobility hip system.

7. David Frumberg, MD, performed the first U.S. implantation of Orthofix's Fitbone system in a pediatric patient.
