Sonoma Orthopedic Products, a medical device company specializing in orthopedic products, has completed the acquisition of certain key assets of NovaLign Orthopaedics, according to a company news release.
The acquired intellectual property, assets and licenses related to intramedullary designs for a less invasive fracture fixation. The acquired technology will be marketed under the TaperBody brand. TaperBody implants can be inserted without violating surrounding joints and are especially useful for long bone fractures, according to the release.
Sonoma expects to begin rolling out TaperBody products in the second quarter of this year.
