Cleveland-based University Hospitals has cut the ribbon on its Ahuja Medical Center's UH Drusinsky Sports Medicine Institute, part of a $236 million expansion in Beachwood, Ohio, according to a July 4 report from cleveland.com.

Spine surgery still has room to grow in the outpatient setting. As minimally invasive techniques and navigation technologies evolve, some spine surgeons have considered taking the leap into the ASC setting. Tim Vollmer, DO, director of the pain management department at State College, Pa.-based University Orthopedics has opened his second private practice, the Pain Spine and Joint Center of the Alleghenies, in St. Marys, Pa., according to a June 28 report from The Daily Press. 

Durham, N.C.-based EmergeOrtho has opened its 10th location in the Foothills region in Sherrills Ford, N.C., according to a June 27 report from the Hickory Daily Record.
