Orthopedic surgeon Jeffrey Jockel, MD, will join the staff of Boston-based New England Baptist Hospital this month as its new foot and ankle specialist. Dr. Jockel specializes in diagnosing and caring for problems of the forefoot, ankle and foot arthritis, sports injuries, fractures, hind foot deformities and neuromuscular imbalance.
He will also serve as a clinical instructor of orthopedic surgery at Tufts University Medical Center in Boston. He has clinical interest in acute and chronic ligament injuries, hallus valgus and bunion deformities, running and dance-related injuries, tendon reconstruction, congenital abnormalities, ankle arthroplasty and complex foot and ankle reconstruction.
Dr. Jockel received his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey's Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He completed an internship at the Steadman-Hawkins Sports Medicine Foundation's Biomechanics Research Laboratory in Vail, Colo., and served his orthopedic surgery residency at Tufts Affiliated Hospitals Orthopedic Residency. He completed the Baylor University Medical Center Foot and Ankle Fellowship in Dallas.
