The worst pieces of advice are:

 

1. Hire people you know: focus on hiring for specific expertise and skills instead.
2. There’s no room for you in the market: Instead, fill a void within your target market.
3. You have to be cheaper than competitors: Figure out how to bring value instead.
4. Social media is free: It takes time and effort to do.
5. You have to spend money to make money: Learn the difference between spending money and investing in the business.
