Most physicians have moved medical practices in the last three years, according to Physicians Practice's 2014 Great American Physician Survey.
The survey includes responses from 1,311 physicians.
In the past three years, physicians have:
• Moved to a different practice — 34.6 percent
• Went into solo practice — 17.4 percent
• Joined an ACO — 15.7 percent
• Left my practice to become hospital-employed —14.6 percent
• Became a patient-centered medical home — 14.3 percent
• Merged with other private practices — 8.9 percent
• Transitioned to a direct-pay practice — 7.1 percent
• Sold my practice and became hospital-employed — 5.4 percent
• Transitioned to a concierge practice — 3.1 percent
