QuantiaMD surveyed more than 1,000 members and found a majority of physicians are experiencing issues with increasing medical spending, reported Health Payer Intelligence.
Here are six key notes from the report:
1. Sixty-four percent of the physicians reported concerns with rising medical spending.
2. Fifty-five percent of physicians said bureaucracy and red tape were among the biggest obstacles in the hospital industry.
3. Forty-seven percent of the physicians cited providing medical care to older, aging patients was a challenge.
4. Almost all — 91 percent — of the physicians said health-based lobbies had an excessive amount of political power.
5. Eighty-three percent reported the federal government "should be responsible for funding medical research and advancements."
6. When it comes to politics, 64 percent of the physicians would prefer to keep the Affordable Care Act as framework for the nation's healthcare system but change or remove weaknesses.
