The Orthopaedic Group, Universal Research Solutions partner on data collection: 5 key notes

Practice Management

The Orthopaedic Group is partnering with Universal Research Solutions to improve patient outcomes with data collection.

Here are five things to know:

1. The Orthopaedic Group will use OBERD’s Musculoskeletal and Quality of Life Registries to compare outcomes across the country.

2. OBERD’s registries provide large datasets for benchmarking, research and quality improvement initiatives. The musculoskeletal registries have been established under hip and knee, hand and wrist, foot and ankle, spine and sports medicine platforms.

3. OBERD is a qualified clinical data registry and can be used for PQRS reporting direct to CMS. There are a unique set of orthopedic measures to assist in PQRS reporting for those specialties and data is collected in the background as part of the normal workflow.

4. The Orthopaedic Group’s institutional goals include:

• Benchmarking to ensure patients are recovering effectively when compared to national norms
• Improved outcomes and overall patient experience
• Meet PQRS and Meaningful Use

5. The Orthopaedic Group was founded more than 40 years ago and includes fellowship-trained orthopedic physicians.
