The CORE Institute — an orthopedic group with offices in Arizona, Louisiana and Michigan — will launch its first Bone Health Program in Arizona.
Here are five notes about the program:
1. It will open at The Core Institute's clinic in Phoenix.
2. The Bone Health Program will focus on prevention, diagnosis and treatment of metabolic bone diseases — particularly osteoporosis. It will emphasize patient care, research and teaching.
3. The bone health department will offer various services related to musculoskeletal care, including osteoporosis prescriptive treatment, vitamin supplementation and exercise and balance training.
4. The CORE Institute says that 80 percent of people in the United States are not identified for osteoporosis screening or treated following a fragility fracture. The institute aims to address this gap by providing comprehensive bone healthcare.
5. The Bone Health Program's comprehensive care includes physicians, researchers and physical therapists collaborating with radiologists, nutritionists and other specialists.
