Coastal Orthopedics' Dr. Arthur Valadie, CEO Paige LeMay lobby on Capitol Hill for BPCI extension

Bradenton, Fla.-based Coastal Orthopedics Sports Medicine & Pain Management CEO Paige LeMay and President Arthur L. Valadie, MD, went to Washington D.C., to lobby for an extension to the Bundled Payments for Care Improvement program, according to a Herald Tribune report.

While on Capitol Hill, Dr. Valadie and Ms. LeMay met with staff members of state representatives including staff members for Sen. Marco Rubio, Sen. Bill Nelson, Rep. Vern Buchanan, Rep. Kathy Castor and Rep. Gus Bilirakis.

 

The practice became involved in BPCI in January 2015; Dr. Valadie and Ms. LeMay discussed the program's future and a need to extend it beyond the current term. The BPCI initiative had 1,448 participants as of July 1, 2016, with 262 being physician group practices. The BPCI initiative currently extends through Sept. 30, 2018.

 

Coastal Orthopedics Sports Medicine & Pain Management opened in 1973 and includes 15 orthopedic surgeons and pain management physicians. The practice also has onsite digital X-rays, MRI and outpatient surgery.
