The CORE Institute partnered with Banner Health to expand their joint venture and add the Orthopedic High Value Network for Banner Health Network patients.
Here are five key notes:
1. The two entities have partnered for the past five years to improve quality in orthopedic care; the new partnership with deepen their relationship by building an integrated care network of providers, facilities, IT solutions and ancillary programs designed to reduce variation, increase quality and lower cost of orthopedic care.
2. The initial partnership birthed the Banner CORE Center for Orthopedics at Banner Del E. Webb Medical Center in Sun City West, Ariz., in 2011. The co-management arrangement has experienced success over the past five years.
3. The Orthopedic HVN is a physician hospital organization and initially will apply to three payer products. Facilities contracting with the PHO will also engage in the orthopedic service line management program at Banner Health, which The CORE Institute physicians helped create.
4. The orthopedic service line program is currently at five Banner Health campuses and the partnership will expand it to four more.
5. The CORE Institute has locations in Arizona and Michigan with clinics planned in additional states and overseas. The organization is focused on payer reform and developed a unique bundled payment program to drive quality while lowering costs.
