63% of IT leaders expect organizations' IT budgets to increase in 2017: 5 insights

TEKsystems reported the current state of IT operations in healthcare organizations, based on survey data from the company's annual IT forecasts.

Here are five insights:

 

1. In 2017, 63 percent of IT leaders said they expect their organizations' IT budgets to increase from last year.

 

2. Eight-two percent of IT leaders reported they are confident in their IT departments' abilities to satisfy overall organizational demands.

 

3. The IT leaders ranked the following as having the greatest impact on their organizations this year:

 

• Security
• Business intelligence/big data
• Virtualization/software-defined networks
• Data center consolidation
• Digital marketing/customer experience

 

4. When asked how much they expect hiring to change this year compared to last year, 67 percent of IT leaders said their full-time IT staff would increase.

 

5. Fifty-three percent of IT leaders expect spending to increase in staff augmentation and 58 percent expect spending increases in managed, project-based or statement-of-work services.
