St. Paul, Minn.-based 3M's Bair Hugger warming blanket has kept patients warm while making surgery and checkup easier for patients.
Here are four things to know:
1. The blanket bends and conforms to the patient's body and preserves normal core temperature with forced-air warming systems.
2. Product developments allow the blanket to "warm patients in a variety of positions and procedures," according to 3M Technical service specialist Melissa Bailey.
3. The Bair Hugger keeps a lower profile and has a new air channel design.
4. There are more than 170 studies on the Bair Hugger system, including 60 randomized controlled clinical trials, according to Faw Facts.
