Bryn Mawr (Pa.) Hospital opened its Orthopedic Surgery Center on June 14 in partnership with Philadelphia-based Rothman Institute, according to Main Line Today.
Here are five insights:
1. William Emper, MD, a sports medicine surgeon athe Rothman Institute's Bryn Mawr location, performed the ASC's first surgery.
2. The new ASC has nine operating rooms and 14 pre- and postoperative areas.
3. In the ASC, surgeons have more room for bigger surgeries and a larger area for teaching medical students.
4. Many of the hospital's knee, shoulder, foot, ankle and hand surgeries will now be done at the orthopedic ASC.
5. The ASC will be available to physicians from other Main Line Health affiliated orthopedic practices.
