The Michelson Center will bring together expertise from biological sciences at USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences in Los Angeles, medical doctors and researchers from Los Angeles-based Keck School of Medicine of USC and engineering skills from USC Viterbi School of Engineering in Los
Angeles.
2. Dr. Michelson is a retired spine surgeon with more than 950 product patents throughout the world.
3. The center will open in the fall of 2017 along with the USC Village, a $700 million residential and retail complex in Los Angeles.
4. In San Diego, the university also operates a center for Alzheimer's research and a virtual military social work program.
5. The university is looking to partner with other academic centers across the country.
