Cleveland Clinic Florida renames orthopedic surgery department after $2M donation: 4 things to know

Jeff Levitetz made a $2 million donation to Weston-based Cleveland Clinic Florida, SunSentinel reports.

Here are four things to know:

 

1. Mr. Levitetz, founder and chairman of Boca Raton, Fla.-based Purity Wholesale Grocers, specifically donated to the clinic's orthopedics surgery department.

 

2. He donated the money through the Levitetz Family Foundation.

 

3. Following the donation, Cleveland Clinic Florida renamed the orthopedic surgery department The Levitetz Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.

 

4. Cleveland Clinic Florida's President Wael Barsoum, MD, commented, "We are incredibly grateful for the support Jeff has shown to Cleveland Clinic Florida."
