Virtua Brain and Spine Institute holds ribbon cutting

Practice Management

Virtua cut the ribbon at the new Virtua Brain and Spine Institute at Mount Holly, N.J.-based Virtua Memorial Hospital.

The new facility brings together Virtua orthopedic surgeons and Penn Medicine neurosurgeons to deliver spine and brain care. The specialists will treat trauma, degenerative disc disease, arthritis, scoliosis fractures and other disorders at the new facility.

When surgery is necessary, surgeons will perform minimally invasive operations. All patients have individual private rooms for recovery at the new facility.

The alliance between Virtua and Penn Medicine also streamlines access to high acuity cancer treatment, including bone marrow transplants and advanced hematology.

James Sanfilippo, MD, will chair the Virtua Brain and Spine Institute, and Patrick Connolly, MD, serves as the section chief of neurosciences at Virtua Memorial.
