AAOE receives MIPS Qualified Clinical Data Registry designation: 4 things to know

Practice Management

CMS approved the American Association of Orthopaedic Executives to participate in the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System next year as a Qualified Clinical Data Registry.

Here are four things to know:

1. There are 19 practices and 243 providers who already participate in the registry, and the group is expected to increase participation in the next several months.

2. AAOE is offering groups of any size the opportunity to participate and report data on patient satisfaction, patient-reported outcomes and quality measures. Currently, AAOE set rates at $100 per provider for 2018 and $200 for years two, three and four, if participants sign up by April 17, 2018.

3. Providers can use the data for benchmarking as well as quality reporting.

4. AAOE currently has more than 1,600 orthopedic practices.

"The QCDR is [an] exciting and important addition to the resources AAOE members can use to better manage our practices and set the standard for excellence in the industry," said AAOE President Ron Chorzewski, who is also the executive director of Agility Orthopedics. "This is a major step forward and we look forward to continued growth."
