The Orthopaedic Institute of Ohio and the Institute for Orthopaedic Surgery in Lima celebrated 20 years of operation, hometownstations.com reports.
Here are four things to know:
1. To commemorate the milestone, the institute held an open house.
2. OIO physicians performed simulated knee replacement and fragment removal surgery during the open house.
3. OIO grew from eight physicians in 1998 to 15 physicians, 20 physician assistants, two certified nurse practitioners and more than 200 other healthcare staff today.
4. The institute also celebrated board-certified orthopedic surgeon Gary Schniegenberg, MD, who is retiring after 34 years of medical practice.
