Danbury (Conn.) Hospital Joint and Spine Institute rolled out a total joint program, according to Danbury's Hamlet Hub.
Here are five insights:
1. In the two months since launching the program, the spine institute's patient satisfaction rate has jumped 12 percent.
2. The Joint and Spine Institute has seen an influx in patient discharges to home compared to nursing facilities while also decreasing hospital length of stay.
3. Physicians from the spine institute collaborated with a patient navigator, orthopedic surgeons, anesthesiologist and nurses to develop the total joint program.
4. The hospital reported an increasing number of TJR patients are going home the following day postoperatively.
5. The Joint and Spine Institute features 12 private patient rooms.
