Albuquerque-based New Mexico Orthopaedics signed a lease in June to occupy 68,000 square feet of space in an Albuquerque shopping center, the Albuquerque Journal reports.
Three details:
1. New Mexico Orthopaedics has operated out of a space beside Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque for 15 years. With that lease about to expire, the practice sought an amenity-rich space closer to its surgery center in northeast Albuquerque.
2. Winrock Town Center, which is undergoing extensive redevelopment, fit the bill, according to New Mexico Orthopaedics Executive Director Nancy Adelsheim.
"There seems to be this growing trend in healthcare, where physicians … are looking to relocate outside traditional medical buildings," Ms. Adelsheim told the Albuquerque Journal.
3. The new facility will house about 200 full-time employees after construction wraps up in December. Health-oriented businesses are expected to drive the building's revitalization.
