Atlanta-based Resurgens Orthopaedics plans to keep its 24 locations open as it combats the COVID-19 pandemic.
What you should know:
1. The offices will remain open and continue to see patients with urgent and acute injuries, following CDC recommendations around preventing exposure to the virus.
2. The practice canceled all its scheduled elective surgeries and rescheduled them for a later date to alleviate the burden on hospitals and emergency rooms. It has also restricted visitors, allowing one guest per patient. Guests under 16 years old cannot accompany a patient.
3. The clinics will schedule patients with ample time in between cases to keep capacity in facilities low.
4. Patients will also be prescreened before an appointment is scheduled.
