Gainesville, Fla.-based The Orthopaedic Institute is "thrilled" to be back performing elective surgeries as of May 4, according to CEO Richard Gilbert, MD.
The 33-physician private practice is following CDC, federal, state and local guidelines to ensure patient safety during orthopedic procedures.
All patients, visitors and staff are having temperatures checked and are being screened for signs of illness before entering the group's facilities.

The practice performs the full spectrum of musculoskeletal care. It features 23 orthopedic specialists, including three spine surgeons, according to its website.
