Dubois, Pa.-based Penn Highlands Healthcare is beginning construction on a multistory building that will house The Brain and Spine Center and an orthopedic Center of Excellence, Connect FM radio reports.
Penn Highlands Dubois plans to recruit 100 providers and more than 300 nurses and support staff.
The expansion is part of a $111 million project announced by PHH CEO Steve Fontaine last year.
The orthopedic Center of Excellence will span 8,000 square feet, featuring office space for five providers as well as pain management and imaging services.
A new neuroscience suite will expand PHH's neurosurgery, neurology and rehabilitation disorder services.
The facility will also include the Women's and Children's Center of Excellence.
