Rothman appoints Drs. Michael Smith, Eric Grossman to co-lead New York region

Practice Management

Philadelphia-based Rothman Orthopaedics appointed two new leaders of its New York market, the practice announced on June 25.

Michael Smith, MD, and Eric Grossman, MD, will co-lead the practice's growth in the New York region. Dr. Smith has more than a decade of experience practicing in New York and joined Rothman last year. He will oversee the strategic initiatives and direction for the region and serve as the Rothman Board of Council Administrator for the New York region.

Dr. Grossman joined Rothman about 18 months ago and has built a relationship with the leadership team at New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based Northwell Health, which is Rothman's regional partner. He will be director of health system relations in the region and collaborate with Northwell and its employed and affiliated practices directly to boost operational efficiency.

"We felt it was important to split our previous leadership position in New York into two roles given the amount of work both entail," said Rothman Orthopaedics President Alexander Vaccaro, MD, PhD. "We've continued to grow in the New York market and feel that these two outstanding physicians put us in a strong position to exponentially improve operations and relationships in the area."

Anthony Romeo, MD, previously led the practice's efforts in New York.
