The University of Arkansas Medical Sciences is opening a spine clinic Jan. 19 in Little Rock.
The UAMS Health Back and Neck Clinic will combine specialty providers in both areas of care in one location.
"We can reduce unnecessary procedures and imaging studies by improving how patients get care," said J.D. Day, MD, chair of the department of neurosurgery at UAMS College of Medicine. "We want patients to have the right care at the right time with the right specialist for their neck or back problem."
The university's spine program is housed within its Jackson T. Stephens Spine & Neurosciences Institute, which includes the department of neurosurgery, the university's interventional pain clinic, and rehabilitation services such as physical therapy.
