3 physicians recruited by Rothman Orthopaedics-Florida

Practice Management

Philadelphia-based Rothman Orthopaedic Institute teamed with Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based AdventHealth in September to help navigate its expansion into Central Florida.

Rothman Orthopaedics is developing a $100 million, 300,000-square-foot medical office building that will serve as the practice's Florida headquarters. It is self-financing the expansion.

The practice aims to have 50 fellowship-trained orthopedic specialists in Central Florida within its first five years in the region.

Three notable orthopedic specialists who joined Rothman Orthopaedics-Florida:

1. Daryl Osbahr, MD, serves as managing director and chief of orthopedic surgery of Rothman Florida. Prior to joining the group, Dr. Osbahr was chief of sports medicine at Orlando (Fla.) Health. He began seeing patients on Dec. 1.

2. Alfredo Arrojas, MD, is a total joint reconstruction surgeon who specializes in minimally invasive techniques, including robotic hip and knee replacement. He practiced with Orthopedic Associates of Osceola in Kissimmee, Fla., before joining the group.

3. D. Harrison Youmans, MD, a nonsurgical sports medicine specialist, will begin seeing patients with Rothman Orthopaedics-Florida in Polk County in late January. Dr. Youmans has served as head primary care team physician for Orlando City Soccer Club and as a sports medicine consultant for U.S. Soccer.
