Practice Management

Marwan Shuayto, MD, plans to transform a former church in Port Huron, Mich., into a surgery center where he will relocate his practice, the Times Herald reports.

Dr. Shuayto, founder of Michigan Neurology and Spine Center in Port Huron, is a neurologist specializing in the treatment of chronic pain conditions of the head, neck and back.

He purchased the former church last August and said he hopes to begin construction in spring.

Dr. Shuayto said he aims to move his clinic there and add a surgery center with an MRI facility. Plans are up for approval Feb. 16 by the city's Historic District Commission.

If approved, the project is expected to take 12 to 18 months to complete.
