Nader Nassif, MD, was elected division chief of joint replacement at Newport Beach, Calif.-based Hoag Orthopedic Institute.
Dr. Nassif will work on developing and implementing program elements and resources for the hospital's joint replacement program, according to a May 4 news release. He aims to improve public education and outreach related to joint replacements and bring awareness to Hoag's program.
"It's an honor to lead this program among so many tireless, compassionate and dedicated orthopedic surgeons," he said.
He received his medical degree from Boston-based Harvard Medical School and completed his residency at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He continued his training at Hospital for Special Surgery and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, both in New York City.
