The Norton Neuroscience Institute opened June 17 at Louisville, Ky.-based Norton Healthcare.
Norton invested $15 million into the center, which will house spine, neurosurgery, neurology, neuropsychology and neuro rehabilitation services under one roof.
The 48,000-square-foot, multidisciplinary facility will provide diagnosis, procedures and rehabilitation for various neurological conditions, including spine and brain tumors, stroke, epilepsy and dementia.
The institute will feature Norton's Cressman Parkinson's and Movement Disorders Center and Cressman Neurological Rehabilitation, as well as a pain management clinic.
"Having dedicated space for comprehensive neurological care and rehabilitation will make it much easier for us to convene in person and develop customized treatments for each patient," David Sun, MD, PhD, medical director of the institute, said in a June 14 news release. "We believe this level of collaboration sets us apart from other neuroscience centers."
