Northwestern adds neurosurgery to suburban Chicago location

Practice Management

Chicago-based Northwestern Medicine is opening a neurosurgery clinic at its Palos Heights, Ill., location.

The health system welcomed neurosurgeon Drew Spencer, MD, to Northwestern Medicine Palos Hospital, according to an Oct. 7 news release. He'll provide care for a wide range of conditions including brain tumors and spine disorders.

"This is a unique opportunity to build a neurosurgical program from the ground up and put the Northwestern Medicine stamp on it," Dr. Spencer said. "This community deserves the highest quality neurosurgery services. It is exciting to address the needs of patients with complex conditions close to home."

Northwestern will also develop an inpatient program with the goal of performing more neurosurgery cases at Palos Hospital.
