From hospital expansions and standalone specialty clinics, here are eight spine and orthopedic projects costing more than $25 million that opened in 2021:
1. Aventura (Fla.) Hospital and Medical Center opened a $60 million, 90,000-square-foot tower that houses its Orthopedic & Spine Institute, according to a Feb. 8 report.
2. Orlando-based UCF Lake Nona Medical Center in Orlando, a $175 million facility with inpatient and outpatient spine and orthopedic surgery, opened March 1.
3. Providence-based Ortho Rhode Island opened a new $33 million facility in March.
4. Rancho Mirage, Calif.-based Eisenhower Desert Orthopedic Center marked the completion of its $68 million expansion April 27.
5. Phoenix-based HonorHealth on May 20 opened a $44 million neuroscience institute in Scottsdale, Ariz.
6. Chillicothe, Ohio-based Adena Health Systems opened its $70 million orthopedic center Sept. 1.
7. Huntsville (Ala.) Hospital opened its $150 million Orthopedic & Spine Tower in August.
8. Atlanta-based Emory University Healthcare's Musculoskeletal Institute opened Oct. 7. The facility cost $130 million.
