Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset is proposing a two-story expansion with an orthopedic center of excellence, MyCentral Jersey reported March 11.
The Somerville, N.J.-based hospital wants to create an orthopedic center with 35 inpatient rooms and a rehabilitation gym. The new orthopedic space would also free up space to convert patient rooms in the hospital to private rooms.
The expansion would also include a 10-bed rapid decision unit for emergency department patients and reduce wait times. A zoning board is expected to review the proposal March 16.
