7 CEO moves at orthopedic practices: OrthoVirginia, Orthopedic One & more

Leadership changes are rife among orthopedic practices this year, with seven independent groups announcing new CEOs in the last eight months:

1. Columbus, Ohio-based Orthopedic One will promote its COO, Mark D'Aloisio, to the role of CEO at the start of 2023. Mr. D'Aloisio will replace Tim Smith when he retires at the end of the year.

2. Advanced Center for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in Owensboro, Ky., named Ginny Ball CEO in August. Ms. Ball previously served as clinic director for Deaconess Health System in Evansville, Ind., and has experience at Summit Medical Specialists in Owensboro and Owensboro Health Medical Group.

3. Fort Wayne, Ind.-based Orthopaedics NorthEast appointed Lori Pagan CEO in July. Ms. Pagan previously served as vice president of operations for the Midwest region of Franklin, Tenn.-based PhyMed Healthcare, CEO of Fort Wayne, Ind.-based Associated Anesthesiologists and vice president of physician services for Dupont Hospital in Fort Wayne.

4. In May, Geneva, Ill.-based Fox Valley Orthopedics appointed John Brady CEO. Before joining Fox Valley Orthopedics, Mr. Brady was director of the master of health administration program in the Parkinson School of Health Sciences and Public Health at Loyola University Chicago. 

5. North Chesterfield-based OrthoVirginia named David Jevsevar, MD, CEO in May, Dr. Jevsevar is an orthopedic surgeon who previously served as chair and regional vice president of orthopedics at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health in Lebanon, N.H.

6. In January, John Kinna left his post as CEO of the Orthopedic Clinic Association in Phoenix to lead North Bend Medical Center in Coos Bay, Ore. Mr. Kinna has more than 28 years of experience as a healthcare executive and previously served as CEO of Phoenix-based OrthoArizona and Barrow Brain and Spine.

7. Elgin-based OrthoIllinois promoted Anthony Brown from chief strategy officer to CEO in January. Mr. Brown succeeded Don Schreiner, who retired Dec. 31 after 22 years with the practice.
