Philadelphia-based Rothman Orthopaedics has laid off 18 employees, CEO Christopher Olivia, MD, told Becker's.
The 18 employees affected by workforce reductions were in corporate service roles, Dr. Olivia said in a March 9 statement to Becker's. The practice is reconfiguring its corporate departments. Employees who met role-specific qualifications were hired to fill vacant spots.
"Rothman Orthopaedics remains steadfast in our commitment to provide the highest quality care to our patients and communities," Dr. Olivia said in the statement. "In response to spiraling costs, inflation and our need to decrease organizational expenses, we’ve implemented measures to streamline organizational efficiencies. This was a difficult decision given the contributions of those affected, but we remain deeply committed to our mission."
