9 orthopedic, spine projects to look forward to in 2024

There are multiple spine and orthopedic practices that are planning to open new clinic locations in 2024. Here are nine to know:

1. Daphne, Ala.-based Baldwin Bone & Joint is opening a new facility next year in Spanish Fort, Ala. The 10,300-square-foot facility will include 18 exam rooms, four procedure rooms, an X-ray and MRI suite as well as a 1,400-square-foot physical therapy department.

2. Lynchburg-based OrthoVirginia will open a new location in Midlothian, Va. in 2024. The facility will cost $50 million and have 77,000 square feet, according to a news release. It will be part of Watkins Centre, a mixed-use development community anchored by a Bon Secours emergency center.

3. Iowa City, Iowa-based Steindler Orthopedics got approval to begin construction of its campus in North Liberty, Iowa. Developers are hoping the facilities will open in November 2024.

4. Athens (Ga.) Orthopedic Clinic has broken ground on a 23,600-square-foot facility in Greensboro, Ga. The new facility is expected to open in early 2024. It is part of an undeveloped 18-acre commercial tract.  

5. Cincinnati-based Mayfield Brain & Spine is constructing its sixth practice location in Springboro, Ohio. The new location, which will open in summer 2024, will include dedicated neurosurgeon coverage, clinic hours for nurse practitioner appointments, physical therapy services and interventional pain treatments.

6. St. Luke's Health System is entering the final stages of construction on the Boise, Idaho-based Center for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine. It is now set to open for patients in February 2024.

7. UT Health East Texas is building a two-story, 20,000-square-foot, $12 million orthopedic and sports medicine-focused facility in Tyler, Texas. The new facility is expected to open in 2024. 

8. Nashville-based Tennessee Orthopedic Alliance has broken ground on a new 28,000-square-foot facility in Clarksville, Tenn., that will replace its current site. The new location is expected to open in September 2024.

9. Bloomington, Minn.-based Twin Cities Orthopedics' management services company, Revo Health, has signed a lease for a 33,492-square-foot facility in Bloomington, Minn. The company will move into the Northland Center in the first quarter of 2024 after renovating the space.
