Charleston-based West Virginia University Medicine Thomas Hospitals has opened the state's first full-service, comprehensive orthopedic hospital, according to a Jan. 3 report from Metro News.
In 2022, WVU entered a partnership with Thomas Health and Saint Francis Hospital. A repurposed Saint Francis facility has become the site of the new hospital.
The facility will offer inpatient and outpatient units, physical therapy, occupational therapy, a walk-in clinic, six orthopedic and spine physician offices, and skilled nursing.
The first orthopedic surgeries will take place at the facility on Jan. 9.
