Olympia Orthopaedic Associates joins PELTO Health Partners

Practice Management

Olympia (Wash.) Orthopaedic Associates joined PELTO Health Partners, leaders with the practice told Becker's.

The practice has a spine center, two clinics, an urgent care center and an ASC, according to its website. Thirty-one physicians work with the group, Olympia CEO Ben Shah said.

"From my perspective, the future of healthcare and the ability to really get value and quality lies with independent physicians," Mr. Shah told Becker's. "For us to have an opportunity to join other like-minded, independent orthopedic groups was just an incredible opportunity to continue to move that needle forward for our community and our own well-being. Independent groups are struggling, and this was an opportunity for us to really take advantage of people who are great in this space."

This is PELTO's second new partnership. The group previously added Cincinnati-based OrthoCincy.

The Olympia partnership brings PELTO to five groups with more than 500 physicians in its network. Durham, N.C.-based EmergeOrtho, Indianapolis-based OrthoIndy and Seattle-based Proliance Surgeons are the founding groups of PELTO.
