Access Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics in Exeter, N.H., notified patients of a data breach that was discovered in May.
Employees discovered suspicious activity in the practice's network on May 10 and took measures to secure it, according to a Sept. 12 news release. After an investigation, the practice learned an unauthorized party accessed some files.
Patient information including names, dates of birth, medical information and Social Security numbers may have been accessed. However the practice hasn't received reports of identity theft related to the breach.
