Most medical practices describe the transition process during electronic health record implementation as a little difficult but agree that it could have been worse, according to Physician Practices' 2014 Technology Survey, sponsored by Kareo.
A survey includes a total of 1,442 respondents.
When asked to characterize the transition process during EHR implementation, respondents reported the following:
• A little bumpy but it could have been worse — 44.1 percent
• We got through it, but it was more painful than it needed to be — 33.9 percent
• Smooth sailing — couldn't have asked for a much easier process given the nature of the change — 11.9 percent
• Traumatizing — I wouldn't have wished it on my worst enemy — 10.1 percent
