Practice Management

Encino, Calif.-based mPulse Mobile, a healthcare-focused secure mobile message company, raised $1.7 million for a healthcare secure messaging tool, according to mobihealthnews.

Here are five key points:

1. mPulse was created last year as a healthcare-focused spin-off of mobileStorm, a secure mobile messaging company. mPulse developed a secure messaging offering for healthcare organizations such as payers, pharmacies, public and private exchanges and providers.

2. The tool allows users to use secure mobile push notifications, Medicare enrollment support and caregiver communications.

3. Providers can use the tool to give patients appointment reminders, visit summaries, emergency waiting room times, virtual visit support and post-visit satisfaction surveys.

4. Pharmacies can use the tool to support medication management programs, communicate shipping and order statuses for mail-order prescriptions, give medication adherence reminders and help customers locate the pharmacy.

5. mPulse acquired various assets of the healthcare division of Archer USA, a company based in Seattle and Johannesburg, South Africa that develops mobile-based patient engagement offerings.
