HHS' Health Resources & Services Administration is granting more than $16 million to boost telehealth and other healthcare services in rural communities, according to Healthcare IT News.
Here are six points:
1. HRSA will divide the $16 million into four grant programs that will impact 60 rural communities in 32 states.
2. HRSA's Federal Office of Rural Health Policy will administer the four programs.
3. The Telehealth Network grant program will receive the largest award of $6.3 million.
4. Over the next three years, 21 community health organizations will receive $300,000 each year.
5. About $4.9 million of the funding will also support seven Rural Health Research Centers.
6. Three Flex Rural Veterans Health Access Programs will receive $900,000 to enhance mental health services for veterans.
