WVU Medicine University Healthcare Physicians have broken ground on the future site of Spring Mills Medical Office Building in Berkeley, Calif., according to The State Journal.
Here are five things to know:
1. The three-story, 40,000-square-foot building will cost $11 million to build and is expected to open between December 2017 and January 2018.
2. Konrad C. Nau, MD, president and CEO of University Healthcare Physicians said: "Berkeley County is the fastest-growing county in the state. We like to have our clinics decentralized out in the areas where they are needed."
3. The new facility will offer urgent care services, orthopedics and sports medicine, physical therapy, primary care services, pediatrics, family medicine and general surgery.
4. Between 25,000 and 30,000 patients are expected to be seen in the first year of operation.
5. The new facility will require 20 new staff and urgent-care physicians for family medicine.
6. Space in the building will be leased to several of Berkeley Medical Center's satellite services.
