The Medical Group Management Association asked physicians their thoughts on value-based payment models in a May 2017 survey, according to healthcare informatics.
Here are four takeaways:
1. Eleven percent of surveyed physicians noted positive feelings about moving toward value-based payment models.
2. Of the surveyed physicians, 40 percent reported negative feelings about shifting toward value-based payment models.
3. Still, nearly half of the physicians noted they are "split" about their feelings of value-based care.
4. MGMA Senior Fellow of Industry Affairs David Gans commented, the survey demonstrates physicians are "uncertain how value-based payment is going to affect their practices and their patients."
